An enthusiast of all things whimsical and silly, Tracie has been drawing cute, fuzzy animals since before she can remember. As a freelance illustrator from the Bay Area who specializes in children's books, she uses her art as an outlet for all the zany ideas that bounce around in her head all day, bringing them to life on her canvas.

Her background of teaching and caring for kids comes in to play in the colorful personalities of her characters, both human and animal alike. She finds herself most inspired by the many children and animals in her life, along with her adventures while living in big cities and traveling the world.

She is a graduate of the Academy of Art MFA program, and currently works as an Illustrator at a small children's book publishing studio in Concord, CA, in addition to her job at The Walt Disney Family Museum. In the past, she has worked as a painting instructor for both children and adults. Along with her work in children's books, she also has a great love for visual development and character design for animation. When she's not in her studio or at the museum, you can most often find her eating huge bowls of spaghetti, exploring the many nooks and crannies San Francisco has to offer, or lounging in a pool somewhere sunny with a good book. Look for her debut children's book, "The Mermaid and the Moon," written by Susan Pace-Koch and published by Get Out Books!
